The Little Dudes Story

The Beginning: Their tale starts with Little Dude, Onions, Minions, and Lavas secretely following their Toa hero, Light. They followed him up until he went into the cave entrance to the Bohrok swarm which had attacked their village of Miko-Koro. They hid themselves at the top of a hill amongst an outcropping of bushes and decided to await for the return of their hero. It would not be long, however, before they became bored, and annoyed at Onions for eating onions, and ventured into the cave after what appeared to be a rush of Bohrok returning to their hive. They followed these Bohrok into the main hive chamber where they hid behind some rocks and watched their Toa hero slay the remaining Bohrok.

As Light went past them unawares, Little Dude spotted what had made Light appear different to them, the krana on his head. When he had left, Little Dude and his friends decided that they too should bear krana and discarded their masks. [link] It should be noted that the krana seen there are not their original krana, which were actually color coordinated but of similar powers.

Controlled by the krana, they complied to commands issued by Icer [link] and gathered krana, which they then spread throughout their village. They had no need to force any Miko-Matoran to don such a krana, for if their Toa had done so, so would they. Other Matoran in the village would not, which led to fighting in the village. Many of these other Matoran were slain but many managed to flee.

When Light arrived at the village, he was greatly disdained by the crowd of krana wearing Miko-Matoran. His subsequent attempt to free them, Light fought a Bohrok swarm leader for leadership over the Matoran; he failed horribly. Instead of falling under his guidance, their sanity was lost and instilled a great love for krana. Chaos took place as many Miko-Matoran fought one another, destroying what was left of their city until Claws, who happened to have a leadership of the swarm krana, managed to calm them and end the fighting (it should be noted that after the battle for control, the Miko gained great resistance to such control wherein neither Light nor any Bohrok would be able to control them and even another Miko would only be better at persuading another). He persuaded that they should not fight one another or those that bear or have a love for krana as themselves or else be a mockery to their own krana. They agreed and broke up into small groups of friends and family, no longer united as a village but only by a love for krana, believing they'd be better off split up and that would be best for krana kind as well. Claws and Lemons left together in search of things to tear or rip apart. Another, named Flames, went in search of the former Miko Turaga's flame staff, which he had long desired for himself.

While everyone else had gone, Little Dude and his friends remained, curiously watching the fallen form of the Toa Light. Little Dude and Onions debated about taking the krana off the fallen Toa as a traitor against Minions and Lavas who believed he remained a krana bearer and therefore they could not affront him unless he tried to control them or kill them. Unmoving as the Toa was, Little Dude argued that the Toa was dead and therefore his krana was in need of their care. Reaching for it, the light elemental power instinctively reacted, transforming the four's krana. Little Dude's, Onions, and Flame's (who was still close enough to be affected) turned darker and shinier while Minions and Lavas turned lighter and gold reflecting inner natures. Lavas and Minions had not be as adversly affected and so more light had remained within them and less corruption. They also found their weapons to have changed. Little Dude's ice spreader now was a shadow spreader, Onions katanas were now shadow katanas, and Minions and Lavas swords became light swords as they were also empowered as their krana with light and shadow abilities. Under Icer: Icer, who had gone himself to investigate what had just transpired, discovered these four around the Toa. He also spotted Toa heading their direction and decided not to pass up an opportunity. Persuading them that he and all Makuta were friends of the krana and without them the Miko would never have gotten any, he managed to lead Little Dude and the others to join the Makuta. Whence they arrived at the Makuta fortress Icer had come from, Icer questioned them about what had occurred and decided then that they could be useful and if they were... he'd have Rahkshi find and bring in the other Miko to join them. Teridax agreed. Icer would tell you that results ranged between them being a nuisance, annoying, or extremely useful.

The instance that leads them to appear as they do in this pic can best be described as a culmination of the three. By this time, Minions had acquired a boomerang from a friend they had named Boomer [link] Little Dude had replaced his shadow spread with a shadow empowered fist, and Lavas had found a dual-sided ice axe (which he thought pretty even if he couldn't use the ice elemental power). While on a patrol, Onions spotted the familiar faces of Claws and Lemons who were being followed by Flames. Little Dude decided they should follow them as well if not to simply bother them then to find out what had become of their krana as both now had red ones and whether or not he could have their old ones. Lemons and Claws had stumbled unto the secret entrance of the Temple Ga and were in the midst of returning there for further exploration. Flames followed them knowing that inside the Temple Ga there was bound to be great treasure. Once inside, Flames found the path to split up in many directions and decided to take one that Lemons and Claws hadn't. By the time Little Dude and his friends arrived, all three were out of sight. Lavas suggested that they split up and when done exploring return to this spot. They agreed. In the course of exploring the Temple, many traps were set off though all the Miko managed to avoid certain deaths by doing odd things as they went along, such as suddenly stopping to stare at something shiny. Little Dude ended up being the luckiest of the bunch, finding the greatest hidden treasure of all, the mask of time, or whether he thought, the krana of time as the mask was so small in stature it appeared to him to be a krana. Lavas ended up finding Lemons and Claws and had fun bugging them. Minions ran into Onions who had somehow managed to find a stockpile of Onions (Minions greatly hating the smell of onions). Flames found nothing except for the actual entrance to the Temple and headed back the way he came, arriving at his original entry spot to discover Little Dude and all the rest there. Flames decided he'd steal Little Dude's original krana for himself and sell it but in his attempt to do so he was caught. Icer, who had found it a nuisance to have to come looking for them, overheard them and was quite shocked to see they had done something useful in discovering the mask and finding three other Miko Matoran. However, he found it most annoying that he couldn't convince them to relinquish the mask.
